Mr. G. A. Ashley, formerly freight manager of the Transport Ferry Service of the Atlantic Steam Navigation Co., Ltd., has been appointed to the new post of chief traffic manager.

Mr. A. J. Brogan has been appointed north-east area sales manager by Chloride Batteries, Ltd. Based in Leeds, he will be responsible for sales of all Exide batteries in Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland. Mr. B. T. Brown, sales manager of Edbro-B and E Tippers, Ltd., Bolton, is retiring at the end of this month but will be available to the company in an advisory capacity. He will be succeeded by Mr. A. Thomas, who becomes group sales manager for the northern area, and Mr. G. W. Hennah, who will hold the same position in the southern area. Mr. A. MeCleery, traffic manager of the Ulster Transport Authority, is retiring after 43 years in public transport. Mr. W. G. Meyer has been appointed commercial sales manager of the Dunlop Brake division, Foleshill, Coventry. Dunlop also announce the appointment of three new assistant district managers in the London area. They are Mr. R. G. Irvine (Greenwich), Mr. P. H. Belton (Mile End Road) and Mr. J. H. Mitchell (Albany Street).
