The Ballast, Sand and Allied Trades Association declares that the transport of ballast within the customary delivery radius of 20 miles will cost up to 5d. per cubic yd. more. The cost of producing the material may also rise by id. per cubic yd. The National Federation of Meat Traders Associations believes that the expenses of the retail meat trade will be raised by about 1250,000.
