at the age of 51, of MR. H. M. Swirl., M.I.R.T.E., transport manager and chief engineer of Ushers Wiltshire Brewery, Ltd., Trowbridge. He was honorary secretary of the Western Group of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. He was attending the centre and group honorary secretaries' conference of the I.R.T.E , which opened at Harrogate on May 26, when he fell ill.
He was apprenticed to Caffyns, Ltd., and was later with Cambrian Omnibus Co., Ltd.. until it was taken over by the London Passenger Transport Board.
