Volvo's Used Truck Retail Sales operation at Coventry is relocating to other sites across the Midlands and the South

Words: Kevin Swallow

TO REDUCE overheads, Volvo Trucks has moved its Coventry-based Used Truck Retail Sales operation to seven regional sites across its territory.

The Middlernarch Business Park site in Coventry opened four years ago with a centrally located used division as part of the dealer's business plan. So why the relocation? Volvo used truck director Peter Groome says: "We've been looking at how to reduce our costs and how to get closer to customers. Moving the Used Truck Retail Sales operation to these seven Truck Centres should ensure there will be a conveniently located Used Truck Retail site not far from most of our customers in the Midlands.

"We're also pleased to be able to have the use of the new Dealerpoint at Bardon, Leicestershire. This represents a multimillion-pound investment with state-ofthe-art workshops and customer facilities that provide a showcase for the Volvo Used Truck operation." he adds.

The new beneficiaries of used vehicles are the existing depots at Bedford, Didcot, Kettering, Hayes, Enfield and Avonmouth, and the Dealerpoint at Bardon. Used sales staff will operate out of these locations. •
