Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a truck driver wanted for questioning in connection with the suspected murder of a convicted rapist.

Alan Lee Street is believed to have been killed in a violent struggle at a house in Stockbridge Street, Padiham, on 21 December, although police have not yet confirmed that he is definitely the victim.

Street was listed on the sex offenders register.

A body has not been found, but substantial amounts of Street's blood were found at the Padiham home of driver Alan Palmer, who has not been seen since the alleged murder. The blood was identified by DNA comparison.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that Street is elsewhere in the country.

Additionally, the police have not ruled out that Palmer may have travelled out of the country in his capacity as a truck driver, Detective Superintendent Neil Hunter, who is heading up the investigation, says: would urge Mr Palmer himself, or anybody who knows of his whereabouts, or anyone who has been contacted by him or been in his company or has seen or knows the whereabouts of a blue Mitsubishi Colt, to contact police immediately."

Police say Palmer has not been seen since the Saturday before the murder took place, and that his car, a Mitsubishi Colt with the registration PE58 OJY, is also missing.

Palmer is believed to be white, 5ft 11in tall, medium-built and with receding hair.

He has several tattoos, including a snake head, bull, eagle snake and swallow on his left arm; and a snake and skull, two flower designs and the words *Mam' and 'Lucky' on his right arm.
