Customs and Excise: Product exclusions

rw 1 From 1 January 1998, certain — industrial products originating in some countries outside the EU (including Russia, India, Thailand and China) will be excluded from the benefits of the Generalised System of Preferences graduation scheme. From this date, the full rate of customs duty will be payable on a range of products from these countries, including fertilisers, leathers, textiles, steel and electrical goods. All remaining preferential benefits for products originating in the most advanced beneficiary countries will be abolished.
