Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A truck loader which can lift 5 tons at 5ft llin. radius, or 990Ib with the boom extended to 31ft 10in, has been introduced by Telehoist. It is known as the Telehoist-Foco 9000 and is designed to pick up awkward loads in difficult operating conditions. It has a lifting moment of 65,100 lb ft.

The standard maximum boom length is 18ft 1in. which gives a lifting capacity of 3300Ib; retractable telescopic extension tubes can be added to increase the boom length to 31ft 10in. A 4ft 7in. hydraulic extension is a standard feature of the main boom.

Slewing is by rack-and-pinion and is controlled by two cylinders giving a sweep of 410 deg. The system provides for speeds from inching to fast slew, while the slewing moment is 10,850 lb ft.

Controls are normally operated from a pillar-top seat which gives the driver a full view throughout loading or discharging. Operations can also be controlled from ground level.

The double-acting boom cylinders are of new design and feature die-burnished surfaces that increase seal life and eliminate leaking. All piston rods are hard chromed to give protection from rust. Two hydraulic extension jacks are used to stabilize the vehicle during lifting operations.
