• A new award was announced by Mr John A. C. Williams, principal of the College of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering, Chelsea, London SW3, at the College's annual prize giving.
It is being donated by CAV, diesel fuel injection manufacturers, and will take the form of a sponsored, two weeks tour of one of the company's European manufacturing facilities. The award, an annual event, is to be known as the CAV European Study.
Candidates for the award will be selected from third year students who have completed their formal training in automobile engineering, the selection panel including the College principal and two representatives from CAV. Upon completion of the study tour, the student will be offered a period of training in diesel engineering and fuel injection technology at the company's British headquarters.
