• The National Guild of Transport Managers has announced details of its second annual conference. The venue will be the same as for 1970, the New Bath Hotel, Matlock, but a more ambitious programme is planned involving two full days, Friday September 24 and Saturday September 25. A dinner-dance will be held on the Friday evening and the agm on the Saturday morning. Four conference sessions are planned on each of the two days but no speakers have, as yet, been announced.
Today, January 8, transport managers from Beds, Herts, Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire are meeting at Aylesbury to inaugurate the first Guild branch in their area.
