o Management changes covering the varied activities of Containerway and Roadferry Ltd came into effect on January 1.
On that date the activities of the company's European division, dealing with unit load traffic between the UK and the Continent. including Scandinavia, were transferred to Containerway Europe Ltd, an existing but hitherto dormant NFC company. Also transferred was the control of NV Containerway Belgium SA, the company's Belgian subsidiary, The activities of the Northern Ireland division, dealing with unit load traffic between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, will remain with Containerway and Roadferry Ltd. Similarly, Ferry Trailers Ltd will continue as a subsidiary of the company. (Ferry Trailers Ltd operates unit load services between Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, in conjunction with Coras Iompair Eireann, under the trading name "Irish Ferryways".) Also, Lawther and Harvey Ltd, an NFC company based in Belfast. will continue as agents of Containerway and Roadferry Ltd in Northern Ireland.
Containerway and Roadferry Ltd will continue to be based at Tower Bridge House. 198-204 Tower Bridge Road, London, SE1 (wiz 01-407 4533).
Containerway Europe Ltd is based at Containerway House, Ripple Road, Barking, Essex (tel: 01-592 7344).
Chairman of both companies is Mr H. W. Elliott. Mr R. G. Davis continues as managing director of Containerway and Roadferry Ltd, while Mr G. D. Bickmore, formerly executive director. European division. Containerway and Roadferry Ltd, has been appointed managing director, Containerway Europe Ltd.
