Three Recent Luton Types for Very Different Work
Two-tier Transport
EIG1-111( bicycles can be carried in this two-tier Luton van (above) mounted on a Bedford TK 3-ton chassis by G. C. Smith (Coachworks) and just put into service by Raleigh Industries Ltd. of Nottingham.
A built-in 1.amp and spring-loaded tailboard -make for easy off-loading by the driver, the cycles being located in the van by detachable transverse posts which drop into slotted longitudinal members at the sides of the van interior.
Raleigh recently put into service some light artic vans for trunk work, these ilso having false floors to provide multitier loading.
