" WHATEVER else happens in British
VV industry this year, one thing is certain-1965 will go down as industrial training year." This was stated on Monday by Mr. Richard Marsh, Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour.
He said: "At a time when competition from other industrial nations is probably tougher than ever before, we cannot afford a situation where some firms make no contribution to training in industry but are content to pirate skilled workers from more progressive employers."
Outlining the progress already made in setting up Training Boards, Mr. Marsh said employers would do well to check straight away whether they have enough training expertise in their own management. The training officer or training manager would be a key man in carrying out the Industrial Training Act.
