• Drivers working on P&O Trans-European's fuel distribution contract with Shell have voted on a 5% pay increase over two years, say union leaders.
The Transport and General Workers Union ballot over pay ended last week and a result was expected as CM went to press. The offer amounts to 5% for 2000 and 5% for this year.
A full-time union official says it is being structured in a way that raises basic rates and reduces hours of work.
An initial offer in the long-running dispute was voted down by 334 to one recently (CM25-31 Jan).
