Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Humber Bridge wants to increase tolls by around 25%.

The rise, immediately opposed by the Road Haulage Association, is expected to be inflation linked and takes account of the 25% rise in general prices seen since the bridge's last toll increase in 1989.

The size of the increase will be discussed later this month by the 22 local councillor members who make up the board.

One-way rates are currently £6.50 for a two-axle lon-y, .£8.70 for a three-axle unit and £10.90 for a vehicle with four or more axles.

The RHA says it will fight against any rise in tolls for the mile-long bridge.

Last week the Government won approval in the House of Commons to write off part of the bridge's long-standing debt but it is still to be decided how much will he eliminated.
