Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

My future in haulage is now in the balance thanks to the Government's great idea to take away the livelihoods of drivers who are short-sighted and wear glasses on the basis their glasses might be knocked off as they drive along.

I cannot remember the last time my glasses were knocked off—I think I was at school at the time.

So at the age of 30, and with nearly 10 years experience. I could be jobless in July along with thousands of other drivers. I wonder if this will entitle us to claim invalidity benefit?

They should be more concerned with the 3.4 million drivers who have defective vision and break the law every time they get behind the wheel, and not the honest drivers who have their eyesight regularly checked.

I just hope that URTU and

the TGWU can make the Government change its mind. P Homer.
