• Hauliers are being offered a new testing kit to catch drivers who abuse drugs.
Police forces have been using the test for some time, but the single-use test is now available at supermarkets and chemists for Oa Each kit has its own identity number and can test four different surfaces before being sent away to laboratories to be analysed.
A Drug Alert spokesman says: "The kit only detects the presence of a drug; not that it has necessarily been taken."
