BRISTOL-BASED Baylis Distribution has seen a string of resignations following its recent takeover by former Culina boss Thomas van Mourik.

IT director Christopher Helps, commercial director Robert Marshall and operations directors Colin Murphy and Richard Wright all resigned on 2 November, according to documents that have been filed at Companies House. They were all significant shareholders in Baylis Distribution.

Van Mourik took control of Baylis in the middle of October as part of a it 5m buyout along with con sultant Phil Shaw and two of Hayti s's current directors, Nigel Jury and Roy Vickers.

Investment firm 3i is thought to have relinquished its large stake in the company since the takeover.

Capital for the buyout was raised in part through mortgaging three of Baylis's warehouses: in Warrington, Cheshire; Goole, Humberside and Okehampton, Devon.

Nobody from Baylis was available for comment as CM went to press.
