Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DANGEROUS CONSULTATION • Further changes to the Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances Regulations 1984 and the Approved List are being proposed in a consultative document published by the Health and Safety Commission.

The regulations require the labelling of most dangerous substances and preparations for supply and conveyance by road. They apply to all those who manufacture, supply or convey dangerous substances.

The charges are needed to implement an EC Directive and to adopt the 1986 recommendations of the UN Committee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. The opportunity has also been taken to correct existing entries in the Approved List.

That part of the Approved List, which deals with supply, will have 13 substances added and details of 18 amended. A total of 29 additions and 100 amendments are made to the conveyance entries in the list.

Comments on the document must be received by 13 January 1989 and should be sent to: R Warner, Health and Safety Executive, HSD-D1, Baynards House, 1 Chepstow Place, London W2 4TF.
