The Birmingham Watch Committee has recently prepared a report showing the number of casualties incidental to street traffic in Birmingham coming to the knowledge of the police during the six months covering April-September. The total number of street accidents in which persons or property were injured was 3,642, in which only 74 motorbuses and no motor coaches were involved. The total number of persons injured, but not fatally, was 1,748, whilst the number of persons fatally injured was 44. In the corresponding period of last year the total number of street accidents in which persons or property were injured was 2,980.
