Les Barnes, Champion Spark Plug technical services manager in the UK, is now supervising operations in Europe too. Vic Dubois continues as technical services manager Europe.

Douglas N. Girling, 58, who previously dealt with London Transport's bus purchasing and modification programmes, is now responsible for the overall planning of the bus garage modernisation programme. THE York round of CMLDoY attracted 134 competitors recently. Overall winner was R. Hutchinson, driving a Bedford, of Shell-Mex & BP. The team prize went to the Conoco depot at Sheffield.

The best army driver trophy was won by L/Cpl Tapper, WRAC, of 40 Squadron RCT.

Obituary

We record with regret the death of James Moffat.

Mr Moffat, 65, founded the Fife transport firm, James Moffat and Son (Cardenden) Ltd, which now has 50 vehicles, 25 years ago. He started with coach hiring, and expanded into haulage contracting and bulk liquid handling.
