FIRE brigades will be among the first to feel the effects of new roads and road improvements, according to Md. H. Lumby, chairman of Lancashire Fire Brigades Committee. He said last week that, because travelling time would be cut, it would be possible in the future to let one new fire station do the work of two or three old ones.
