tunnel had been driven and the remaining works were proceeding satisfactorily, Mr. G. R. H. Nugent, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, said last week. There was no reason to suppose that the tunnel would not open in 1962.
Lord Maneroft said in the House of Lords that further discussions on the use of the old Kingsway tram tunnel as a road would take place between London County Council and the Minister of Transport when the council had considered detailed estimates of cost.
