kevin.swattawfarbi.co.uk DUE TO'll IE shortage of used Euro-4 trucks, a number of operators that regularly take loads into London are planning to acquire late-registered Euro-3 vehicles and equip them with a suitable exhaust trap, claims Matt Hammond of dealer Harris DAF.

That is because anybody wishing to enter London's Low Emission Zone (LEZ) from 3 January 2012 onwards will have to run trucks that meet the particulates standard of the E.uro-4 emissions regs.

If they cannot obtain Euro-4or Euro-5compliant vehicles, fitting a trap to a Euro-3 truck may he the only available option if they want to avoid substantial daily penalty charges.
