Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• More than 20 drivers jobs were saved when Suttons Tankers cancelled plans to close the Morley depot it bought from Wincanton Logistics in January ( CM 21-27 Jan).

Suttons general manager Frank Merx had expected at least 35 drivers' jobs to be lost as part of plans to close the site following the buyout of Wincanton's chemical distribution arm.

But just seven days before the planned closure on on 27 March Suttons decided to con tinue operations at the site, albeit on a reduced scale. We have rescinded the notices of 22 of the ex-Wincanton drivers," says Merx. "But 13 drivers' jobs will still be lost." He says the men started work again at Morley on Monday 29 March; they will work a month's trial to see "whether they want to work with the new regime".

The 80 drivers and 57 trucks based at Wincanton Chemical Distribution's other depot, at Hartlepool, were transferred to Sutton's Billingham depot.
