k /TAKERS of delivery vans should LVI try to devise a system of mirrors .which would eliminate the blind spot it the rear, Nottingham city coroner ;aid on Monday. An inquest was being ield into the death of a three-year-old noy who was killed when a batterytlectric van reversed into him.
The coroner had been told that the Iriver's mirror had a blind spot to a ieight of 3 ft. from the ground at the .ear of the van. There was a danger, se said, that even when the driver went .ound to the back of the van to see whether it were safe to reverse, a child :mild have moved into the blind spot )31 the time the driver, returned to the :ab.
"These vehicles should not be .eversed without the assistance of a nate," added the coroner.
