CHANNEL TUNNEL CHALLENGES II A two-day conference on how the multi-million pound link with France will affect businesses in the North West will be held at the Copthorne Hotel, Salford Quays on 13-14 November.

• Coach Approach '89, the London Tourist Board's annual exhibition for coach operators, will focus on new attractions in London. FAIR MOTORING IN BELGIUM
• Kortrijk in Belgium will host two motor trade fairs in October. The European Car and Bus Week takes place from 710 October, featuring the election of the "Bus and Coach of the Year", followed by the 10th European Bus and Touring Coach Fair from 13-18 October, with an official opening on 12 October.

WINNING WITH ELAN AT MOTEC BASE
• The winner of Elan's Driver of the Year award will be announced at a family fun day on 9 September at MOTEC in High Ercall, Shropshire.
Over 400 of the company's drivers entered the three-class competition, attemtping tests set by the Institute of Advanced Motorists. A successful 75 will battle for the title and a 2500 holiday voucher prize on the final day.
