Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Bob Desmond, garage manager for Charrington & Company's Southern Region distribution depot at Newhaven, East Sussex, has won the Commercial Motor/Trace Systems computerised fleet management competition featured earlier this year. He has collected his prize, worth over £10,000 from CM editor Brian Weatherley.

The prize includes a TrScan systemiser fuel management package, complete with Fuelscan software, capable of handling three pumps on a single site, plus a full Epson PC-based Trace fleet management package covering vehicle inventory, maintenance log, fuel and driver data, accident reports and other relevant operating information.

Desmond will use the equipment to keep a watch on the performance of the depot's 21 artics and two rigids, which are used on local distribution work for the brewer.
