The Renault Trucks team at IAA was on a high. Not only is it leading the European Truck Racing Championship with one round to go, but it has also won a significant battle in the marketplace. For three years, and over 400.000km, German operator Joachim Fehrenketter has been carrying out a closely monitored trial of tractors from all seven leading manufacturers. The conclusion of the trial reveals the Premium Long Distance to have the lowest fuel consumption and overall operating costs.

Its stand features a variety of alternative fuel vehicles, including Maxity Electric and the Premium Distribution Hybrid Tech. The initial example of the hybrid 26-tonner has now successfully completed 12,500km and 600 hours' work in seven months of operation with Coca Cola in Belgium. Renault light commercial vehicles sold by the Renault Truck network, including the latest Master van, will in future be distinguishable from those from the van division by a red badge on the doors.
