AN important contract worth Zim. has been received by Metropolitan-Cammell-Weymann Ltd., for single-deck bus bodies for London Transport. These are to be mounted on AEC Merlin chassis already on order.
Of these buses 32 will be 45-seat dual-entrance vehicles for the country bus services, 64 will be one-man 50-seat single-entrance buses, 17 will be 25-seat Red Arrows and the remaining 37 will also be of standee layout, the design to be finalized. Delivery is due to begin in June next year.
