AN Aylesbury coach company, Keith Garages, Ltd., are negotiating to take over at an early date a local bus company, Red Rover Omnibus, Ltd., who operate services from Aylesbury to Buckingham, Eclgcott, Westcott and Weedon Village.

Keith Garages at present run five A.E.C. coaches on express services and excursions and tours. They also employ a Dodge 25-seater on contract work, and a Volkswagen is used for small parties.

The Vacuum Oil Co., Ltd., have raised by Id. a gallon the price of Mobilgas Special, and similar advances have been applied by the Cleveland Petroleum Co., Ltd., to Clevecol and Cleveland Benzole Mixture, and by the Fina Petroleum Co., Ltd., to Super Fina and Fina Mixture. The Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., have increased the price of Esso Extra by Id, a gallon and that of Esso Mixture by 4d.

PLYMOUTH MERGER . AST week, A. C. Turner, Ltd., Tavistock 'Road, Plymouth, and Car Sales (Plymouth), Ltd., Summerland Place, Plymouth, were amalgamated, the Turner company now incorporating the other. Turner's present workshops in Kirkby Place are to be used solely as a repair depot for commercial vehicles.

NEW N.E.A.V.B. BRANCH

TAKING the place of a branch which 1closed down many years ago, a Nottingham and district branch of the National Employers' Association of Vehicle Builders was formed last week. Mr. W. Bottoms, of the Carlton Motor Body Co., Ltd., was elected chairman. and Mr. T. II. Slater, of Slater and Simpson, Ltd., honorary secretary.

NOT DIRECT FROM FAWLEY INFORMATION supplied by Hari greaves Motors, Ltd. (The Commercial Motor, September 23), appeared to indicate that oil supplies conveyed by their tanker fleet were being drawn from the Esso refinery at Fawley. Actually, these are obtained from the Esso terminals at Saltend and Mode Wheel.

RUNNING-1N CUT OUT -pIXED running-in speeds are no Jlonger necessary with Bedford Light vans. Instead, the operator is asked to avoid sustained high engine speeds and full-throttle operation for the first 1,000 miles.
