Hands up who's ever suffered at the hands of a traffic warden? Keep those hands up if you decided that the warden was clearly mistaken in his belief that a ticket was in order, and to show your dissatisfaction you mowed said attendant down. A rather rash way of handling the situation, but precisely what Midlands driver Malcolm Bagriall did. His Fiat van was hit with a ticket by Martin "only doing fly job" Molineux after he had parked on zig zag lines outside a school.

Handling the situation with all the aplomb of a hippopotamus who's just found his wife rolling around in the mud with his life-long buddy, Bagnall proceeded to call Molineux some unsavoury names relating to personal self-pleasure and then broke the warden's leg in two places through over-zealous use of his vehicle.

Judge Mark Eades thought this was a tad OTT and rewarded Bagnall with a nine-month allexpenses-paid holiday as a guest of her Majesty.

• A much more satisfying way to exact revenge (perhaps) is to catch wardens at their own game. Office workers in Watford were gobsmacked to see an attendant park illegally on zig zag lines and then wander off to hand out fines to mere mortals who dared commit similar crimes.

They duly photographed him in the act and Issued a cheeky parking ticket too.

CM is unsure whether

the attendant had any excuses to hand after he was disciplined by his firm, but we assume the usual "my wife is pregnant/I was only there for a few seconds" probably didn't help.
