Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Saw a neat means of keeping tyres at the right pressure the other day. An artic belonging to D. J. Russell Transport pulled into the Kent garage where I was filling up with fuel and while an attendant topped the truck up with derv, the driver checked all his tractive unit tyres with a device he'd made up himself after seeing another driver with one.

It consisted of the female half of a C-type air brake coupling to which he had attached, by a short length of hose, a portable garage 'tyre gauge with lever and dial. By uncoupling the third line to the trailer and connecting his tyre device to the male coupling on the unit, he had his own tyre inflation unit which he could use to the limit of the length of the suzie.

I noticed he was careful to keep the engine running fairly fast so that the reservoir pressure remained OK; the only other snag I can foresee is that on a good many heavies the air-line pressure is quite likely to be about the same as the maximum recommended tyre pressure. Still, a very enterprising piece of work.
