Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FRIGOR refrigerated bodies are now being imported in CKD form from Denmark for assembly and marketing in the UK by A. C. Penman Ltd, Heathhall, Dumfries, DG1 3NY.

The bodies are supplied with inbuilt twistlocks for chassis or trailer mounting. Available in 5.5m (1810 to 12.2m (40ft) lengths, they are made from single-piece grp foam panels offering high thermal efficiency and low weight.

A 12.2m (40ft) box without refrigeration equipment but fitted with meat hanging rails, twin, rear doors and a side door has an unladen weight of 3.8 tonnes.

Penman claims that the 12.2m (40ft) Frigor box is at least 1 tonne lighter than competitors. Penman is showing a representative range of Frigor bodies at the Scottish Motor Show.

The sandwich panels are made up of high-density foam pillars, which are enveloped in grp, and lower-density foam infill between the pillars. The close-cell polyurethane foam formation within the panels does not absorb moisture and so panel thermal efficiency is maintained. The grp internal facing is claimed to be easy to clean and so turn-round time when changing load types is minimised.

The doors are made from fully moulded grp panels with added strengthening at highload points such as the hinges and door bolts, Hollow-section steel reinforcement is integrated into the roof structure both to strengthen it and to provide fixings for meat raids.

The heat loss coefficient, or K factor, for a 12.2m (40ft) body is claimed to be 0.24 k cal per sq m hour. The high efficiencies achieved can, says Penman, allow the fitting of lower than usual capacity and lighter refrigeration equipment or alternatively reduce the working frequencies of equipment normally fitted.

Body thermal efficiency is guaranteed for six years and the construction complies with the European Agreement on Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (ATP) and other health and hygienes regulations that apply either in the UK or Europe.
