the Eziern. Kent oil refinery of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Co., Ltd., into operation, involving pumping 27,000 tons of Kuwait oil from the tanker " British Skill," was taken last week.
Work on the refinery began 21 years ago. Tge distillation plant is almost ready to go into operation.
The second stage of construction calls for the completion of a catalytic cracking plant, for refining high-grade motor spirit, in the middle of next year. A lubricating-oil refinery is to be built as the third stage.
When the plant is in full production, the Anglo-Iranian group will have a refining capacity in Great Britain of about 10.5m. tons a year, The Grangemouth and Llandarey installations are expected to go "on stream" this month.
