Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A REPORT BY consumer organisation Which? says diesel in motorway service areas is, on average, 13p/litre more expensive than in local petrol stations.

Which? visited 51 sites around the UK,from Folkestone to Stirling. At the BP/Moto Hilton Park service area on the M6, it found diesel at 111.9p/litre, compared to the cheapest alternative site within five miles at 98.9p.

The motorway service areas were also more expensive for snacks and bottled water.

However, the consumer guide found that most motorway services had clean toilets and some even had flowers in their washrooms.

Richard Headland, editor of Which? Car, says: "By all means stop at a motorway service station to use the toilets or have a break from driving, but remember — they don't always offer value for money."
