Alter setting off with the convoy on Sunday morning we have now travelled 895 miles in Russia, reaching Rostov yesterday evening. Up to Kiev 1,552 miles have been covered with no troubles.

So far the trip has been uneventful, with the vehicles running well, and the seheduie set by Ford has been kept to The weather has been a mixture of sunshine and showers with ambient temperatures ranging from 35"F to 50"F.

From here, where we are spending the night, on Wednesday the Ford convoy will climb 10.000ft. up into the Caucasian mountains to get to Tbilisi. After this we head for the winding coast road that leads into Sochi,. the final day requiring 421 miles to be covered—which at this point appears to be a tall order!

If all goes well in the next stages of the journey we should be in .Sochi by the time this is read, taking a well-earned rest. I hope to be able to report a successful conclusion to the journey in next week's issue.
