CARTER ENGINEERING CO. ‘-.0 (TAM WORTH) LTD. is now licensed to manufacture American Anchorlok spring brake equipment in this country for both home and export markets. Mr. A. H. Carter, the company's managing director—who completed his negotiations in Detroit last week—told "The Commercial Motor" that the intention is to manufacture a complete brake system incorporating a new type of compressor and air tank, together with the necessary piping, valves and brake chambers.

A meeting has alreedy taken place with Ministry of Transport officials and agreement has been reached for a prototype vehicle to be submitted, in due course, for trials by the Ministry, which will probably be held at the Road Research Laboratory proving ground.

Three heavy vehicle chassis manufac turers have already offered the company chassis for prototype development and advantage will be taken of this at an early date.
