A NEW anti-backlash cote piing, for diesel injectou pump test stands, has bear introduced by Leslie Har. tridge Ltd. The coupling ie designed to eliminate back. lash between the injectoi pump and the test stand drive shaft, to comply with the lat. est international testins standard — ISO / DIS4008/ 1.
It is primarily designed tc eliminate cyclic speed variation: induced by backlash in th( pump drive system, a commor fault found with the old dpg typ( couplings and a fault which car influence test results and cat's( inaccurate calibration of pump! on a test stand says Hartridge.
The coupling has been deve loped for use with Hartridgc .Series 875, 1100 Mk 2 anc 1150 test stands and is suitabli for testing both in-line and DPi type injector pumps. Two sets o interchangeable coupling jaw! are available; 75mm jaws to pumps with outputs of up t( 100mm'istroke and 90mn jaws for pumps with outputs o up to 175 mm/stroke. Thi clamping mechanism will fi onto the Oldham or CR types o injector pump coupling and ST allowance has been built-in to limited lateral misalignment.
The standard Hartriclge uni versal test stand attachment kit have been modified to includi the new coupling and, for thosi who wish to add this facility ti an existing installation. All kit contain the coupling and guard together with all attachmen bolts, a hexagon wrench an phasing lever.
