Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

for European hauls

BETTER fuel consumption, less bodywork damage, and legal operation on the Continent are promised by T.I.P. Trailer Rental from a batch of special low-height Tautliner curtain-sided semi-trailers it is now offering for hire.

The bodies have a depth of 8ft 21/2in — several inches lower than conventional curtain siders. This means the overall height of the trailers is 13ft 11/2in is just within the European 4-metre height limit.

In spite of the height reductions, the access height through the sides and rear doors of the Tautliners is still 7ft 91/2in. The company says that after extensive research among Tautliner users, it found that many of them did not require any more height than now offered.

As a result the height 'reduction should mean less trailer damage. There is a 30 per cent reduction in that part of the frontal area of the trailer which causes wind drag, which should mean fuel savings according to T.I,P.

Boalloy's Tautliner bodywork is already fitted with a dragreducing bow front.

International operators in particular will benefit from the low-height.

Finland and Norway have been added to the countries in which semi-trailers can be hired from T.I.P. Branches have been opened at Helsinki and Oslo. T.I.P. has also two new branches at Bremen and Frankfurt, West Germany.

The latest additions to the T.I.P. network increase to eight the number of countries in which T.I.P. is represented on the continental mainland.
