Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

USING two induction manifolds per cylinder was advocated in a paper, "A new trend in dynamic supercharging-, read at the recent FISITA Congress in Barcelona. The author, Mr. Egon Janosdeak of Budapest. claimed that employing two manifolds of different lengths would reduce resonance and provide a degree of pressurecharging. Practical experiments with various types of piston engine with the aid of a digital computer had shown that the system greatly improved the torque output of the units.

Although applications were limited by the space required by the manifolds, which have a greater-than-normal length, applications could more readily be made to underfloor engines and small high-speed units. The system was particularly suitable for rotary engines.
