Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Karrier ambulance paid for entirely by voluntary contributions has recently been delivered to Mote House Cheshire Home at Maidstone. This private body aims to cater for the seriously disabled and chronic sick, who while not in need of constant medical attention, are unable to look after themselves.

The ambulance incorporates a number of new features and is based on a Karrier KCL 4035 Walk-Thru chassis.

It has been specifically designed to accommodate both sitting patients and wheelchair patients at the same time. The 12ft 9in interior length body provides adequate floor space for 4/5 wheelchairs to be accommodated comfortably.

A feature specially requested by Cheshire Homes was the fitment of a one-piece wind screen in place of the two-piece normally fitted to Walk-Thru models.

Loading of wheelchairs by means of an electric/hydraulic tail lift which has a platform approximately 4ft 6in wide by 3ft deep with a built-in guard rail.

This ambulance conversion was carried out by Rootes Body Production Department at Maidstone.
