that U.K. demand for petroleum products in 1962 was 10.6 per cent higher than in 1961. Excluding bunkers for ships engaged in foreign trade, total deliveries were 50,900,433 tons. Consumption of motor spirit grew by 5-2 per cent to 8,565,288 tons; deliveries to dealers were 7 percent up, whilst those to commercial consumers fell by, 3.5 per cent. There was a fall in the use of motor spirit by commercial users with their own storage, mainly due to the continuing change from petrol to diesel-engined commercial vehicles. Deliveries of dery increased by 71 per cent to 3,040.584 tons.
