ACLAIM for an increase of I ls. a week in the wages of transport workers in the wholesale grocery and provision trade was considered on Tuesday.
On Monday the National Joint Industrial Council' for the distributive coal trade gave further consideration to an application for higher wages for transport workers in that industry.
Wages of drivers employed by Pease Transport, Ltd., the transport organization of Tate and Lyle, have been increased by 12s. a week from May 3. Drivers of vehicles drawing trailers receive an additional 10s. a week.
It is proposed to increase the wages of transport workers in the aeratedwaters industry by as. a week.
