The company provides scaffolding services for tricky areas Well's Cathedral spire is a recent example. Logistics manager Matthews is responsible for a fleet of 79 vehicles.
His first role was to identify inefficiencies in the 112 vehicle fleet and trim it back. Combined with a fuel efficiency programme the result has been a saving to the company of E.100,000 a year (CM 29 July 2004).
"When transport's not your core business you perhaps don't pay attention to it," he told CM at the time.
