OWNERS and drivers of all motor vehicles are reminded by the Ministry of Transport that the new regulation under which it is illegal to use pass lamps fixed so that their centres are less than 2 ft. from the ground came into force on January 1. Fog lamps fixed lower than 2 ft. may be used only when there is fog or falling snow.

The new regulation does not apply to head lights which are dipped or extinguished when the dip-switch is pressed.

As a result of representations by the Society of .Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the Minister has agreed tir make regulations under which all-head lamps and pass lamps on vehicles registered for the first time on or 'after January 1,1952., shall be mounted with their centres not higher than 3.ft, 6 iris. and not lower than 2 ft. 4 ins, from
