Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Bradford, Education

Someone who's taking a particular interest in overseas affairs is Harry Pointon, managing director of Transflash Units Ltd. Since his haulage and freight forwarding business has services to 12 European countries he's providing 40 of his staff at Bradford headquarters with lessons in French and German. Bradford Technical College is providing the tuition.

Harry, who started with an autocycle and now has nearly 100 vehicles, thinks that employees wouldn't feel much like traipsing off to "school" after a day's work (yes — I know that many people do!) so he's arranged the lessons on company premises, and the language students knock off half an hour early to start their lessons.

He says: "So many English people expect foreigners to speak English. As Britain becomes more European I feel we should make an effort to learn the languages of our fellow Europeans."

No prizes for guessing which way he'll vote in the Common Market referendum.
