Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

33 garages operated by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co. Ltd., will hold a one-day strike tomorrow (Saturday) in protest against the national rejection of

their wage claim. • This decision was taken at a meeting in Birmingham last Sunday of 800 delegates, representing about 5,000 workers all over the Midlands; the meeting was addressed by Aid. A. Silcox, district organizer of the Transport and General Workers' Union. A telegram has been sent to the union secretary on the National Council for the Omnibus Industry, informing him of the full support of workers in the largest privately owned bus company in the country for any action the union executive may decide to take.

A strike on this scale will obviously cripple Midland Red services throughout the Midlands. Aid. Silcox suggested that this was one answer to statements from the employers' spokesmen that the busmen were not behind the union.
