Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by the National Fede1 ration of Fruit and Potato Trades, Ltd., that the prospect of State control of transport continues to be uppermost in the minds of all distributors, whether they be leaders of the trade or smaller members.

A number of nembers of the National Federation, having written to their Members of Parliament, have received in response copies of a stereotyped " assurance " given by the Minister of Transport to the effect that the trade is safeguarded by virtue of the fact that permits for an extension of operation of C-licence holders can be obtained.

The president of the Federation says that this assurance does not make it clear that an open permit will be issued. Therefore, the body cannot rest until it has used every possible endeavour to convince the Minister that the efficient distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables is dependent upon complete freedom from transport restrictions of any kind.

Meanwhile, the National Federation has drafted an amendment to the Bill.

We would point out that over 70 trade associations in all parts of the country are affiliated to the National Federation.
