A NEW cOmpany, entitled Premier Pi Travel, Ltd., High Street, Harston, Cambridgeshire, has, The Commercial Motor is officially informed, acquired the businesses of Harston and District Motor Services and Messrs. Royal Blue Coaches, Cambridge, and is taking over the nonuniversity section of Messrs. Undergraduate Roadways, Cambridge. The new company acquires various stage and express services and excursions and tours.

The partnership in Messrs. Undergraduate Roadways has been dissolved and Mr. E. A. Lainson, B.A., managing director and secretary of the new company, is the continuing partner. All contracts now operated by Messrs. Undergraduate Roadways will be taken over by Premier Travel, Ltd., but contracts for the university will ne continued by Messrs. Undergraduate Roadways, under the direction of Mr. W. G. Crisp. The new company also proposes to operate extended tours during the summer and to run a travel agency.

The chairman of the new concern, Sir C. B. W. Magnay, Bart., was formerly a director of Premier Line, Ltd., and other companies, and is interested in Modern Touring, Ltd., London, W., which operates coach tours on the Continent. Premier Travel, Ltd., and Modern Touring, Ltd., will, states Mr. Lainson, cooperate closely.

Mr. N. Thompson, the present proprietor of Messrs. Harston and District Motor Services, is a director of the new company and will be principally responsible for the engineering side. Premier Travel, Ltd., is shortly to open a head office at 15, Market Hill, Cambridge, when the Harston office will be retained as a branch.

The company's applications for licences were due to be heard yesterday (Thursday), in the Eastern Area, and are down for hearing in the Metropolitan Area on February 13.
