EXPRESS SERVICES REFUSED

NEW summer express services to Bournemouth from Keighley and Bradford have been refused by the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners.

Yorkshire Pool Services were the applicants for the service originating in Keighley, and Wallace Arnold Tours, Ltd., for that proposed from Bradford. Reports of the hearing of the applications appeared in The Commercial Motor on November 16 and 23.

THAMES-PERKINS TO BE MADE IN INDIA? THE Indian Government are considering a proposal that Thames lorries with Perkins oil engines should be manufactured in the country. Perkins engines are already made in India.

Recent estimates place India's requirements for goods vehicles at 40.000 units a year by 1961.
